Types of Acne: Four-Common and important types of acne.

Types of acne ranging from mild to moderate to severe types. The acne treatment is very different between the types to see what type of acne you have before trying to find acne treatment for you.

Acne vulgaris-mild and moderate: This type of acne is most common among people and between age. The most common forms of this are pustules (inflamed head), white heads (complete blockage of the pores), black heads (partial blockage of the pores) and papules (inflamed, but not head).

Severe Acne Vulgaris: This type is often in the form of nodules and cysts. Nodules are they that are great and are very painful and usually takes several weeks to heal. Cysts are lumps, but filled with pus and are more prone to scarring.

Acne rosacea: This appears as a red rash on the face, but have the beans, white heads, black and other heads of it. This is commonly seen in people over age 30.


Severe forms: This type is not common but is very painful and difficult to treat. Apparently, especially in males and affects not only the face, but body parts like arms, back and up the thighs and buttocks. Its subtypes are: Acne conglobata, gram negative folliculitis, acne fulminans, and rosacea fulminans. Severe forms are usually scar, even with proper treatment.
